Bottom blowdown
Together with feed water, solid particles enter the steam boiler, the insoluble part of which sinks to the bottom of the boiler. This matter can be removed with the help of the bottom blowdown.
Fast in motions
The bottom blowdown valve must open quickly to bring about a ‘shock impact’ in order to loosen the slag stuck to the bottom of the boiler. The valve may only be open for a moment, to avoid the wastage of boiler water. Gestra (M)PA bottom blowdown valves have been designed exactly for this purpose, and can be manually operated or fitted with a membrane actuator. If necessary, we will deliver valves fitted with limit switches as well as actuated valves with a control valve and timer.
