Pressostats and thermostats

Pressostats or pressure switches and thermostats or temperature switches are process safety switches that switch off the device when the limit value has been exceeded. A pressostat receives a pressure signal, while a thermostat receives a temperature signal.

On/Off control

A typical application for a pressostat is to operate as a pressure limiter for a steam boiler. If the pressure rises excessively, the pressostat stops the pressure input. Accordingly, it functions as the pump On/Off controller.

Typical applications for a thermostat are, for example, operation as line temperature limiters or as compulsory controllers of systems, in which case the thermostat outputs a signal whenever the temperature set for the cooling water feed is exceeded, for exampl
