Globe valves
The globe valve is a device in which the flow is controlled by a vertically moving plug.Globe valves for cryogenic use are made of cold resistant materials, such as stainless steel, for example. There is an extension stem in a cryogenic valve that prevents the stem seal from freezing. A cryogenic valve must be clean and dry, since the valve can be damaged by freezing water, for example.
Globe valves are an excellent choice for cryogenic media shut-off and control operation. Due to its structure, there is always some flow resistance over a globe valve. There is no intermediate space in the valve into which could trap the medium could be trapped.
