Gate valves

A cryogenic gate valve is somewhat different mechanically as compared to a regular gate valve. There is an extension stem in a cryogenic gate valve ensuring the stem seal temperature remains higher than that of the medium. In addition, a possible pressure increase in the intermediate space is mechanically prevented. Typically, the pressure in the intermediate space of cryogenic gate valves is released through a bore in the gate or body, for which reason the valves are tight in one direction only. Cryogenic gate valves are clean and dry.
