Microturbine

G-TEAM microturbines are installable in the process alongside or in place of a pressure relief valve.

If a regular pressure relief valve is used for pressure reduction in steam systems, the energy contained in the higher pressure cannot be recovered. The energy, however, could be utilised for electricity generation.

Electricity from waste energy

When using a microturbine, the pressure drops and the difference in energy content can be used to set the microturbine rotor in motion and convert thermal energy into electricity. The recovered electricity can be used in the plant’s own power supply network to rotate pumps or compressors.

The payback period of the investment is easy to calculate if the pressure drop process values are known.

We supply microturbines for your systems pre-installed and tested. The supplier’s expert is present throughout the commissioning.
